How long does it take to get my replacement cards?

Boat operators who need to replace their Washington Boater Education Card can order replacements from the Washington State Parks Boating Program. Boaters will be required to:

  1. Complete a Boater Card Replacement Affidavit 
  2. Submit the completed affidavit, along with a check or money order for $5, made payable to Washington State Parks via postal mail to:

It may take 4 weeks to process the affidavit and receive the replacement card. 

 

 

What is the fine for not having a card?

Boaters caught without a Washington Boater Education Card may be fined up to $87. 

What if I lose or destroy my card and get caught boating without it?

Boaters who are found operating a boat without a Boater Education Card may face a fine of $87 however, if you’ve lost or destroyed your card you may order a replacement from the Washington State Parks Boating Program. 

What if I obtained my certificate through another course provider?

If you obtained your Boater Education Certificate through another course provider, you can contact the Washington State Parks Boating Program to obtain a replacement.
