Do I Need To Wear a Life Jacket When Boating In Florida?

The only boaters required to WEAR their life jackets in the state of Florida are:

  • •Children 6 years of age and under who are on boats under 26 feet in length that are underway.
  • •PWC operators and passengers (inflatable life jackets are not permitted in Florida for PWC passengers).
  • •Passengers being towed by a boat or PWC (inflatable life jackets are not permitted in Florida towed sport participants).
