{"id":1239,"date":"2015-09-30T13:06:18","date_gmt":"2015-09-30T13:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.boatsmartexam.com\/?post_type=article&#038;p=1239"},"modified":"2015-12-14T14:08:00","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T14:08:00","slug":"boat-accident-reporting-requirements-in-pennsylvania","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.boatsmartexam.com\/knowledge-base\/article\/boat-accident-reporting-requirements-in-pennsylvania\/","title":{"rendered":"Boat Accident Reporting Requirements in Pennsylvania"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A boat operator involved in a boating accident is required to:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Stop their boat at the scene.<\/li>\n<li>Render assistance to any person who has been injured or who is in danger so long as they can do so without risking their safety or their passenger&#8217;s safety.<\/li>\n<li>Provide their name, address and boat information in writing, to any person who was injured and to the owner of any property that was damaged as a result of the accident.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Boat Accident Reports<\/h2>\n<p>If any of the following occur as a result of a boat accident, the PFBC must be immediately notified, followed by a written accident report within 48 hours:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If a person has been injured and requires medical treatment beyond first aid.<\/li>\n<li>If a person has disappeared from the boat.<\/li>\n<li>If a person has been killed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If property damage has occurred in excess of $2,000, or if there is complete loss of a boat, an accident report must be submitted to the PFBC within 10 days of the accident.<\/p>\n<p>Boating Accident Report Forms are available on the Commission\u2019s website. Reports must be sent to:<\/p>\n<p>PA Fish &amp; Boat Commission, Bureau of\u00a0Law Enforcement<\/p>\n<p>P.O.
